What a creative movement class is like
Five parts, in the same order every week, so a small dancer knows what comes next.
- 01
Step 1: Come in and settle
Shoes on at the door, then a few minutes of quiet moving on the floor.
- 02
Step 2: A story in motion
The teacher tells a short story, and the class becomes the animals in it.
- 03
Step 3: Scarves and hoops
Colored scarves for arms that float, and hoops for stepping and jumping.
- 04
Step 4: Across the floor
Walking, skipping and galloping in a line to the music.
- 05
Step 5: Bow and thank you
A bow to the teacher and a wave goodbye.
